Yes. VP-1 has a built-in rechargeable battery for portable use. Connect VP-1 to AC/DC power with the corresponding power cord to charge. The charging time will be longer if the machine is in use.
How is VP-1 powered?
For ultra portability, VP-1 can operate on three power sources: 1. Home AC power; 2. Vehicle DC power; 3. built-in rechargeable battery battery. When using it on AC/DC power, connect the machine directly to the power source with the corresponding power chord.

Excellent product. Fast shipping. Keeps me from desaturating by preventing me from falling below 94% no matter how active I am on a setting of 1, and I am the film photographer for for the best rock and roll band in southern California, Stone Horse. This little, inexpensive device is going to allow me to keep my free passes, my front row reserved seating, and the occasional song that Dani will dedicate to me. I get to keep shooting thanks to Varon. Good product at a good price. My VT-1 saved my life of rock and roll.
This is actually an update for my original review . After the shipping/customer service issue I did receive my order of the Varon VP-1 along with an extra charger and battery. The case for the machine is too small for easy battery replacement. My wife modified the case by opening up the back and closing it with Velcro. Also the little screws on the bottom of the machine that have to come out for battery replacement are kind of inconvenient for old fingers. Neither of the issues are deal breakers, just something to be aware of. Although I'm still getting used to the machine settings, I have been very satisfied with the oxygen quality. I have COPD stage 3 currently (diagnosed in 2019), and steadily getting worse since. My oxygen level goes down to mid/upper 80s when I'm walking for exercise but the machine will keep me around 94/95 on the number 4 setting. For normal walking around the yard and or visiting I can set it on 1 or 2 to keep my oxygen around low/mid 90s. Sitting in recliner watching TV will usually stay low to mid 90s with no supplement oxygen. I have a large concentrator and oxygen tank for continuous use at night. I also have a portable eclipse 5 unit, but it is actually quite large for maneuvering around. The VP-1 is definitely small enough to easily do activities without being in the way. Mine with the case is 7 lbs. The important thing for me was the oxygen quality (90%+) on all levels. For the price this machine is very impressive, and worth trying it out if you're thinking about it. I did buy an extra charger and battery, hopefully I'll get 3 to 4 hours minimum time, it can also plug into car along with regular electric. Another nice thing with this machine is the fact you don't need a prescription to get it, which normally means oxygen level so low you can barely function. The fact that you can buy it for around, $500 vs $3000 is probably the best benefit. Although I'm still getting used to the machine settings and the fact that it's pulse flow vs continuous flow (which is actually quite easy to adjust to) I'm very happy with purchase. It comes with a one year warranty, but time will tell how it holds up.
Very good equipment, the VT-1, works perfectly and is what I needed, mainly to leave the house and have a secure supply of oxygen, without being locked in the house, the battery takes 7 hours to charge to 100% and the battery consumption is faster if the highest levels 5 and 6 are used, my experience using level # 4 is 2:30 hours of battery life. I recommend this equipment, plus it is not very heavy to carry around.
I'm enjoying the Varon oxygen concentrator plus VP-1.... you have to adjust and figure how to use the Machine to wear using it and figure out how long to use it and when to charge it, when using it, it only last almost 3 hours and it depends on oxygen settings, set 1 use 1 when I'm not moving alot and set 2 is when I'm walking or doing more movements. 😀
So far the Varon oxygen concentrator plus is doing ok so far.
bought for use while driving! it is perfect for my driving needs and alows me to save my Oxygen tanks for walking to and frow, I use 8 liters per minute and no one makes a portable for that level of O2 . but while driving it works perfect, and will help in times of power outages!
So much easier not having to worry about extra batteries. I've purchased 4 Varon products now , 2 home and 2 portable. My first portable finally needed to be replaced so I chose the Varon vp-1 the only negative issue i have is the carry bag is too small for the unit. I like the design of the bag you can use backpack or carry with strap but the bag is way too small I need a bigger size bag for the unit.
This is my husbands and he really likes it. So much easier to use out side to do things he needs to do. The tanks are so heavy, but this makes it better. So, for now its great.
Perfect for what I needed. Even at 1 Liter per minute, this is sufficient to increase my oxygen to a comfortable blood level of 97%. Perhaps 1L per minute is not adequate for someone who needs more, but it's good for me at an affordable price.
U.S. competitors present many bad reviews of Varon products - possibly true; however, Varon fills a gap of affordability that the U.S. companies have ignored. Is any other company willing to step up and make a reliable U.S. product that people can afford?
Love it, just thought the battery would last longer. 2 - 3 hours tops. Sit beside my bed and used during the night. Very quiet. Will try out the back pack on my walk, today. It is lightweight, but for a little lady would be too heavy, 7 lbs.
Fast shipping and was here when my husband was released from the hospital. He doesn't have a prescription for oxygen but uses it at night for his sleep apnea! Works great ... And it's very quiet! Five stars!
My father is using it for a month now, He suffers from pulmonary fibrosis and this concentrator has been of great help in improving his quality of life.
VARON 5L Pulse Flow Portable Oxygen Concentrator VP01
Our unit arrived today so on with the testing! Just some background on what we have and what needed to complete. Yes we have a full size AC oxygen concentrator, back up large tanks and small travel tanks too. Being in Florida storms and hurricane come from time to time but in a real bad situation and-or grid down for long period of time what do you do if power is out and fuel for the generator is exhausted, and no way to get or exchange your o2 tanks your land locked and no way in or out for weeks.
So today we setup the 5L VP01 ran the battery down to 25% set at 3L setting and then used our solar powered battery bank (small AC/DC ) unit to recharge the VP01 using the AC plug that came with the VP01 unit. Success it took only a little over one hour to re charge to 100% and yes granted I know its a new unit and may take longer as it is used more. My battery bank only went down to 70% after recharging the VP01 I know to recharge the battery bank via the solar panel will take time but it is a win win for us to have peace of mind and a O2 backup system.

Received my Varon 5L VP01 three days ago i used it in our local shopping mall. It worked very well,
so far. It appears to be a well designed and easy to use with easy to understand controls.
I am quite pleased with it.
Great product. Highly recommend it. Works really well. I bought this directly instead of gling through my insurance since I had a 5k ded. I'm glad I did.
