VP-8 Lite vs. VP-8G — How to Choose
VP-8G and VP-8 Lite are among our latest and most advanced portable oxygen concentrators, sharing a similar design, size, weight, and core features. The key difference lies in oxygen performance. VP-8G delivers higher oxygen concentration and maximum output, offering 1–8 settings with clinical-grade 93% ±3% oxygen, making it ideal for users with higher oxygen demands. In contrast, VP-8 Lite trades peak performance for longer battery life and a more budget-friendly option, well suited for users with moderate oxygen needs.
The VARON VP-8 Lite is a lightweight, portable oxygen concentrator designed to provide reliable oxygen support at home and on the go.
It delivers stable 90% oxygen concentration across all 7 adjustable flow settings, allowing precise oxygen therapy from rest to light activity. VP-8 Lite also features two intelligent oxygen delivery modes: Breath-Sensing Pulse Mode, which releases oxygen as you inhale, and Fixed-Frequency Mode, delivering oxygen every 4 seconds. If no breath is detected within 10 seconds, the unit automatically switches to Fixed-Frequency mode to maintain continuous support. You can easily switch between different modes with a single button.
Powered by a 6400mAh rechargeable battery, VP-8 Lite offers 1.5–5 hours of runtime and supports three power options: battery for outdoor use, AC adapter for home use, and car power cord for in-car use. The 4.4 lbs (2kg) compact body fits neatly into the included portable bag for shoulder, crossbody, or hand-carry use.
With a clear LCD display, simple controls, replaceable filters, and quiet operation at 45–60 dB, VP-8 Lite ensures comfortable, convenient, and reliable daily use. It is ideal for travelers, seniors, pregnant women, and individuals seeking dependable portable oxygen support.

It weighs more than the website claimed, but so far it has worked for feeding livestock - we haven't been able to test it on the tractor yet. It's straightforward to use otherwise.
Purchased this unit for my wife who is recovering from a severe bout of pneumonia. This unit will be perfect for short outings out of the house. Simple and easy to use!
My Varon VP-8 lite is working great-- everything is as advertised, and much better than the rental unit of a supposedly "premier brand" that I had previously been using! I'm particularly impressed by the lower noise and the ability to use at home, in the car, or just anyplace where there is no power source. Instructions were also clear and consise without extraneous garbage. Communications with the company were certainly better than most, and resulted in quick responses.
Just got it yesterday, haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but it feels well made. I appreciate that it comes with a storage case in addition to the carrying bag. It’s convenient to pack everything into one case when traveling.
