What is the difference between continuous flow and pulsed flow?
Pulse flow concentrators deliver the required oxygen only when you breathe in. While continuous-flow oxygen concentrators provide a constant flow of oxygen, regardless of whether you are inhaling. Continuous flow is suitable for those who need a non-stop oxygen supply, while pulse flow is mainly used on portable oxygen machines for lower power consumption and longer battery life.
What is a nebulizer and nebulizer therapy?
Serene 5 home oxygen concentrator has a nebulizer function. A nebulizer is a medical device used in respiratory therapy to deliver medication directly into the lungs in the form of a mist. It converts liquid medication into fine particles that can be easily inhaled by the patient. Nebulizer therapy involves using a nebulizer to administer medication for the treatment of respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, and more. It is suitable for patients of all ages, and is highly effective in delivering medication directly to the lungs, providing quick relief and targeted treatment.
Can I use Serene 5 overnight?
Yes. The high-quality compressor in Serene 5 allows for continuous use 24/7. It operates quietly with a noise level as low as 43 dB, so you can sleep soundly while using it over the night.
Can I use Serene 5 with a CPAP machine?
Yes, Serene 5 is compatible with common CPAP machines. Yet we recommend you check the specifications of your CPAP machine to confirm its compatibility with oxygen machines.

In the video, the Varon concentrator is connected without using the humidifier. It is connected to the inflow port on a CPAP unit (with an humidifier). Without the Varon concentrator, my nightly blood oxygen saturation was about 95%. With the Varon unit input, my nightly blood oxygen saturation was 98%! I love this unit!
The machine delivers 93 percent oxygen at all flow levels which great and unusual for the price. I’ve owned it for 15 months and I’m very happy with it.
Only used it for two weeks and already can tell a difference in this concentrator. I use oxygen almost 24/7. A little more hours on this 5L and I will let you know more.
It's working I use it with my bipap machine, it incredibly quite more so than I expected it to be, it's very easy to roll around the room or pick a move from room to room.
I use my oxygen machine to fill up my EWOT bag and it works great. I simply hook it up in the morning, and let it run while I'm doing other things. All I have to do is set the timer and it quietly fills the bag with pure oxygen for my therapy.
Just received and have used it two nights. One night with humidifier and one night without. The machine worked great. A bit noisy with the humidifier and hearing the water. But very quiet without.
A+
Seller went out of his way to find one compatible with Canada
Unit works great
Humidifier greatly helps with a good night sleep
If I want to use it with my CPAP all I need is a 3$ connector and all is well
Easy to find correct setup by increasing lightly the air flow until I awake to 94+ Spo2
Brings me a peaceful night sleep
Unit is silent
All smiles!
While the machine does everything as advertised, there was one area lacking: Only a nasal cannula is offered. If you need a mask because of nasal sensitivity or mouth breathing, fuggedaboudit! Maybe I can modify the nebulizing mask to just flow oxygen. That said, setup was easy, the sale price was great, and the machine functions quietly and well. I am happy with both this stationary model and my VP-2 for travel and backup.
Having adult on-set asthma, this machine has been a life changer. I also use it for my elderly chihuahua that has breathing challenges. It has helped us both so much!
If you could see my oxygen levels before and after using the Serene 5L, they are amazing. My oxygen has been dropping in to the low 80's and staying low for about 1 hour total per 7.5 hour night. Now, they stay above 90 all night and my setting is 1.5L. I went from being so sick every morning, to being able to get up and off to work without feeling sick all day. This is literally a life saver for me at night. Wish I would have known about it earlier. Thank you Varon for allowing me to feel good in the morning again!
My Varon Oxygen concentrator is amazing. I have Pulmonary Fibrosis and am going on the UCSF Lung Transplant list hopefully very soon. Until then, my Varon machine and another Varon portable unit are what I depend on. It's much better than the one I got from my insurance and was paying rent on. Thank you
